Hi Folks,
We bought this bike for my wife when it was a year old (7 years ago). She rode it a few times and parked it until better weather. When it was time to start it for a ride a few months later ( I wasn´t there so don´t know the details) she couldn´t get it started. Had to call ADAC (the German version of AAA) to have someone come start it. Fine for the couple weeks of daily riding. Parked it for a few more months. This time I tried to start it with no luck (flooded). Tried a week later without the choke and milked it into running. This turned into a once a year thing until it just stayed in the barn. I´m getting ready to give it another try in the next few weeks. Are these things that touchy? The ritual goes like this:
1) get it out for a good cleaning
2) while charging the battery
3) turn it on, wait on the fuel pump to quit clicking, set the choke and try.
4) if it starts, good. If not, let it set for a week or so and repeat steps 1-3 without the choke.
5) maybe it starts. If so, nice ride. If not, back in the barn until next year.
Bottom line, if it doesn´t start on the first crank, it isn´t going to start.

Can someone tell me what I´m doing wrong?

I´m not an idiot, just haven´t fooled with these things for 20 plus years. If someone could steer me in the right direction, I´d sure appreciate it.
