Nick: I´m a woman but I´m gonna put my two cents in anyway. I have a 1996 Savage 650 which only had 2,258 miles on it when I got it. It drives like a dream. I get 51 miles per tank. Thats even with my husband driving it. Make sure you try and sit on that bike your uncle has, if you can, or go and sit on a savage to make sure it fits. Bikes are very personal as far as what fits who. 650 is a decent size to start out and great if your wanting to get good gas mileage. Its a small tank and you have to fill up about every 115 miles or so. But it holds the road at 70 with no problem. Only thing I have seen is that sometimes you have to roll over and over the lines in the road because the bike dry weight is 352lbs and it does not trigger the light. Other than that, I have no complaints. Hope this helped. SassySavage650
