Fellows, the Bandit sounds its best between 7,000 and 8,500 rpm. Instead of going on 6th gear at 5,500 rpms gear down to 4th or 5th gear and you will realize it is considerably more pleasant to drive.

Although I have done MANY long trips with my Bandit, I dont considere myself an expert, but dont be afraid of pushing the rpms harder. As long as you do the necesary maintenance and oil changes you should be able to push it to 9,000 rpm and the bike will never suffer any engine damage.

Good luck
JP
