New life for my 88 FXRT
New life for my 88 FXRT

I purchased my 88 FXRT in 2000 with 26K miles and at the current 62K miles I noted a new noise from the cam cover. Upon inspection, one lifter had taken a dump and took a cam lobe with it. Figured it was time to do some reconditioning so with the help of my trusted mechanic and good friend, we replaced the cam with an Andrews #EV27, new lifters, adjustable push rods, reconditioned the cylinders, all new gaskets of course, and new rear drive belt. Can really tell the difference in power and torque. She runs like a new machine and I can´t wait for my next road trip. Her tins and paint are in great shape, added a few matching red led strips for that little extra bling at night, and just have to remember to keep my smile a bit subdued to keep the bugs out of my teeth. Live only 30 miles from Sturgis and get compliments on her condition every year. Look forward to riding her every chance I get and there aint no better place to ride than the Black Hills of South Dakota, unless it´s across country to see my grand daughter.
