Front lifter oiling
Front lifter oiling

Twice I´ve had to replace, or have replaced, the front lifter on my FXRT. Both times it looked like it was simply not getting oiled adequately and the rollers died. It happened within a month of my buying the bike, and was the cause of my overhaul at 106,000 miles. I checked all passages to insure that they were clear and lined up the lifter housing as carefully as I could during reassembly. Any ideas what might have caused this problem twice? This is the front cylinder exhaust valve cam follower. Both times the rollers had disintegrated and were simply gone. Were the lifters defective? One other one was loose, but not missing rollers, and it had likely been in the bike since the 50k mile overhaul just before I bought it. Any ideas?
