I own a 1984 fxrt,50000 plus miles. had two problems, the wire on the front of case for the charging sytem came loose, but the rubber boot did not allow you to see it was loose.Harley had a spring to buy and later models came with one.The second problem was the starter selonoid would engage the starter when you were driving along.was still on warrantee and got new selenoid and starter[ a rush having the starter kick in].Still runs like new[I bought it new]burns no oil between changes etc. As you can tell GOOD BIKE.If it matters I´m now 62 years old,My wife and I just did a trip around Lake Superior[1500 miles],and getting ready to take trip up north here in minnesota,to see the fall leaves, and get another ride in before the snow.sorry about the long bla bla bla.See you all on the road.
