I bought my 1988 fltc Evo this winter and my riding friends could not anwser my question I want to know how to check the oil properly, do I warm the motor up to operating temperture let sit for a few minutes then level the motorcycle then check the oil? Or do I check it on the jiffy side stand after the warm up period? or can I check it cold? every one I know has newer Harleys and could not answer my question. simple I know but I want a correct answer. I did not get a owners mannual so I guessing. thanks for any help
