I can´t find any references whatsoever that AMF made a 4-stroke version of the 175SS. But I can assure you that there was one, as I owned a 1977 SS in 1977, and it was most definately 4-stroke. It was new when I got it, and was not a modification. So regardless of what you see on the net, there was one back then.
