I just turned 18 and bought my first street bike, the gpx600r 1988 in black and red. Supertrapp exhaust, stage 3 jets, oversized carbs, new camchain, etc. I´ve rode quite a few newer bikes including a new z6r and this bike is by far the most powerful I´ve ridden in it´s size. (rode an 1100 once) I can pull the front tire off the ground no problem at all at interstate speeds, and a quick 3/4 throttle in 3 gearat 35 mph will break the tire free. This bike has over 18k on the clock and is EXTREMELY reliable, starts everytime, warms up fast, and will do 80mph from a standstill in under a block easy. I can´t give it more than 1/2 throttle at take off or she goes nose up. All this for $1600 with all the maintainance records every 1000 miles. The only problems thats I´vefound this bike has, is the damn turn signals should never have been mounted on arms and out so far. However, there are "flush mount" signals available. other than that I love the bike all around. And besides, I can out accell a new z6r no problem at all with a 16 year old bike. :) -Colt
