86 vs 700 carb swap from later model ?

Hi new to forum just got bike needs good clean up make over . Carbs manky from oil leak looks like valve covers need to investigate.
Original carbs seem overly complicated lots of cables etc
Anyone fitted carbs from later models or is there a need
