Hello S Draper, I own a Gamma 250 83 model and when I bought it it was doing the same thing from a little higher rpm. I was the second owner and it had been sitting for 13 years when I bought it. Long story short... Eventually after looking into all sorts of things electrical and fuel, I simply replaced the main jets with new ones, and to my surprise upon inspection of the old ones, they were both different sizes. I have NO idea why someone would do this, but now the new standard parts in it now goes like it should. Nothing much to 6500, a slight increase until all hell breaks loose at 7000 and its just about all over by 8700 rpm. Great fun indeed! All it was was the main jets. Perhaps yours could be similar? Good luck. Close to THE most fun you can have on a road bike these things are!!! |
