I started riding again in 2008 after 18 years of not riding. I started on a new 2008 V Star 650 and the following year I traded the 650 for a 2008 Yamaha Roadstar 1700 left over and just this year I wrecked the roadstar because I was tired from a trip to our nations capital and was too stuborn to get off the road. I just purchased a 96 Honda Shadow ACE C2T to replace a Yamaha 2008 Roadstar 1700, which I wrecked on Memorial Day. I wasn´t expecting such great performance from the 96 Honda, but I must say it seems to perform just as good if not better than my old bike, plus it is more fun to ride. Now I am looking to clean up and restore the bike to 1996 condition. When I bought the bike it had forward controls on it and I thought I would have to remove them, but I got use to them now and it seems to improve the over-all ride experience. My legs don´t hurt any more and I found I could ride longer. I am very impressed and happy I purchased this bike. I would like to ask if anyone has tried to installed a hyper-charger or where one could be installed. A bike salesman told me the bike will take regular unleaded and premium fuel, is this true? Thank you.
