Hi all. I have a question about CDI units. I have two GPZ 600Rs - one a UK model, and the other a converted 400 Japanese-market model. The first one runs a dream,, with a very responsive motor. the second (which I bought for the track) runs out of power at the top end (only got 100mph out of it down Park Straight at Cadwell). I thought the problem might be valve timing, but before stripping it down I chesked the CDI unit numbers and find that, where the Uk model has the correct 21119 - 1160 CDI unit, the other (converted) one has part number 21119 - 1177. I´m thinking that this is the original 400 ignitor pack and, therefore the cause of my problem. I´m going to perform a swap to test it, but wondered if anybody can confirm the second CDI as the one for the 400? Thanks, Nige W |
