Try this!Remove petcock remove 4 screws holding the vacume plate on remove diaphram and spring,reasemble with spring on oposite side of diaphram,plug vacume tube comming from head reinstall petcock.This should keep automatick fuel shutoff valve open(you can still shut off fuel at petcock if needed)have had to do this on all of my bikes,fuel gets to carbs faster and keeps from draining the battery on hard startups.also make sure your choke cabel atached and working properly.If the choke does not work the bike will be hard to start.
