Hey everyone,
I´m trying to decide on my first bike. I weigh about 180lbs and am about 5´10. I am deciding between a 1986 Shadow VT500 for 1000 bucks. with 9900 miles on it or a 1994 nighthawk 250. I was thinking the 250 because its simple and reliable and economical, cheap to insure etc. I just am very unsure if it will be too underpowered to keep up with suburban traffic / city traffic. I like cruisers and would not take it on the highway ever, just want a fun a to b bike for the simple enjoyment of riding. Do not by far want a fast racing bike but do not want to be stuck in a situation where i don´t have enough power to get out of a bad situation. What your input of what i should choose. I´m 18yrs old and cant make up my mind. They want about 800 bucks for the nighthawk by the way with new tires and battery. The nighthawk is flawless and the VT500 is nice too but there is more to it as far as gas, insurance, up keep, liquid cooled instead of air cooled , etc. Thanks, Nick
