Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum, and truth be told, a newcomer to the joys of motorcycling. After an absence of 30 years I have decided to get back in the saddle. I have been taking lessons to get my confidence back - so for so good. I have been an avid BMW fan since I can remember - and have wanted one for as long. Well - divorce does funny things to you, and here I am at 53 finally fulfilling this yearning that I have had all these years. I am been looking at R100´s and K100´s - and while the R100 has the classic BMW look and feel, I am drawn to the K100 for several reasons I won´t go into right now. I have been offered a 1986 K100 basic with 36k kilometres that has been babied it´s whole life. It´s spotless. I hear vey good things about riding and ease of maintenance. I would to hear from the old hands on their advice - things I should look for etc.. I really appreciate any advice at all you can give this old rookie.
