I´d ask my local Honda dealership in person about modifications. Their job is on the line versus something you read from Anonymous on the net. Be sure to check out the condition of the tires that are on it...if they´re still in good shape and are the original tires (or replacements) they are more for street use than trail---80/20 maybe?

Tell the dealership what you would like to do and they´ll tell you how/if you can do it.
