Had the same problem the other day with mine. Believe the nut size is 9/16. I just cut the wire and took the damn thing apart. I cut it in the light housing of the driving lamp. Wasn´t too much trouble to attach a new wire end on after I fixed the problem. The wire slides easily thru the hole in the hollow screw and then you can tighten the nut. Good luck.
