I bought a 1989 heritage softail classic, but it has fatboy parts on it. The bike looks great, but I want to put some custom rims on it. Here´s my situation....The rims that are on it are from a 2000-2005 Fatboy. If you stand in front of the bike and face it, if you try to put your fingers between the sidewalls and the fender, you can only get them on one side, so the front wheel is off center. I know the 2000-2005 fatboy rims are not compatable with this bike. My question is, how do I know that the front end is the original 1989 heritage softail classic. The rims I want to order are over $1000 each and I can´t afford to order the wrong rims. Also, I want to keep the fatboy fenders that are on it. Is the wheel width going to look the same size, or is there a problem there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
