G´Day, is anybody out there ? This forum stuff is new to me & I´ll probably get a fright if anybody replies. I currently own a 1990 R100 RT. I had a 1953 R 67/2 for about a year back in 1971 but sold it as none of my mates had bikes [I wish I still had it] , so it was a bit lonely I suppose, following them around in their cars. I went for nearly 29 years without a bike until I bought an R65, which I loved, but sold it after a few years as I needed the $ at the time. After several months I managed to buy the R100 RT which I have had for maybe 10 months now. I only seem to ride about 1,000km. per year but hope to expand on that in the future. As a result of my history, I don´t have much wisdom or knowledge to share with others as I really am still a "new" rider. I do have a few questions that you may like to give your opinions to. #1. After I have been riding for about 1/2 an hour, the engine idle speed increases to a range between 1,300 & 1,700 rpm. #2. After a 1 1/2 hour country ride recently , I found it difficult to find neutral gear when I got home. #3. Perhaps its my age or the fact that my bum lacks inbuilt padding, as 1 1/2 hours on the saddle is not comfy at all. My bike is the one pictured on this site. I thought the seat would be the ´bees knees´ so it must just be me. I thought I might get my wife to buy me a lambs wool seat cover [although the extra seating height may not be the best idea as my legs are a bit on the short side] for my 50th birthday. What are your comments?
