Fun bike, excellent handling, fast in corners, mine is a special version, which BMW don´t tell they ever made, but they did, I have the original papers from the Danish importeur, saying it a 48/50 hp model, you´ll only see them as 27 hp models. New or reconditioned heads needed, if the bike´s been treated mean, i.e. long time running idle standing still with little or no cooling, max 5 min. or so, don´t overrev., valveheads could drop. Loosen exhaust nuts now and then to prevent from corroding and grease with copperpasta, best once a year, be very carefull with correct amount and type of oil in front fork, you´ll know what I mean if you go on bumpy road, or something that might not be a road. But apart from these minor matter which can be avoided if you care a litlle for your bike, you´ll love it forever. Previous BMW - R 45 ´79 - R50/5 ´71 - R100 RS ´77 (dec 76) R 65 27 HP ´90 Present BMW R 100 R ´93 with only 2232 km - R 65 48/50 HP ´90. Best of luck with your Bmw´s |
