| the daytona 1000 is a fantastic machine !!!!. there were only about 800 made, 300 of which stayed in the UK. mine was a Lancaster red one, but they also came in Cardinal red, black or blue I bought mine in Sept 2001, and up till 01/07/2002 did 11000 miles on it.i changed the oil every 3000 miles, serviced it every 6000, did the fork seals once and ran a scottoiler on the chain and sprockets . I once did 3250 miles in a fortnight on it going to Gibraltar from England and back for Xmas lunch. they go well, do about 45 mpg when touring, handle well, brake well and look the business. sadly mine got written off a few weeks ago, and i´ve replaced it with a 1991 trophy 1200. if its as good a bike as the daytona i´ll be more than happy the only reason i bought the trophy was cause i couldnt find a 1000 Daytona to replace my old one !!!!!!!!!!! |
