dear Alex ,
my SR doesnt leak at all after 12 years , so I am afraid some foreowner of your SR did a bad repair and hasnt replaced the tightings correctly. You have to carefully find out where the oil comes from , clean the engine and let it run again to find the leak.
Noises might come from the valve spacing , did you adjust it at all ? Yes I had a broken backpipe inside , it shattered and I had to replace the whole exhaust , expensive , at the limit of my budget.
