If you can´t throttle that bike up in second...it isn´t running right. Same as I just answered a black smoke question. Pull your tank, pull the air box, and check to see if the caps have been drilled that covered the air/fuel mixture screw. Your bike was set way rich from factory to aid in the break in process. During the aft break in tune up, the dealer was supposed to drill those caps and lean your bike out a bit. However most dealers for some unknown reason just didn´t do it. Either they didn´t know, or just didn´t do it. If your bike has a top end chatter to it, and blows black smoke when held at about 3500 rpms for a few seconds and then hammered a couple of times, pops and cracks as the rpms come back down.....it isn´t adjusted right.

Check to see if those caps have ever been drilled... if you aren´t sure what you are looking for, take it to a dealer and have him check it for you. If the caps are still in place, pay to have them drilled and adjusted. It will kill the chatter, and increase that bikes performance by 25%. Presto, now you have a bike that will get skyward fairly easy at 75MPH in 3rd gear....with a little help from the clutch.
