Just found this site, I´ve had an Ace for 3 years, its a ´96 with 33,000 on the clock and both myself and a mate have had the same problem with 2 different Aces, they burn oil like its going out of fashion, I´m currently using a 10w 40 fully synthetic oil and am finding that the oil light comes on approximately every 300-400 miles!!!! Anybody else experienced anything similar? Yamaha informed me its designed to burn 1ltr every 1000 miles, my ace doesnt smoke or leak oil, it just burns it, a small sacrifice I´m willing to put up with as I can´t fault it other than that, Ive just had an ´04 Gauloises paintjob which sets it off nice but if anyone has any suggestions about the oil I would appreciate any advice offered.
