Battery or Charing problem

Has anyone had a problem after replacing the battery that the bike will only travel 11 miles and losses all power. I just got this bike on 03/06/04 and it has 2200 miles on it but for some reason the battery will not hold a charge as I have place the battery on a slow charge and after 11 miles the bike just starts missing and dies and will not re-start. Please help. Thanks
