help!! low oil-ticking noise- help???

help!! low oil-ticking noise- help???

1997 suzuki marauder 805cc, 38,000 km, ran it low on oil, now have a ticking sound at the end of each gear, showed zero oil in window, added 3/4 of a litre 10w40 to full. will a synthetic oil be my best bet, should i use a slick50 type product. there is still full power in each gear, but a definate sound that was not there before. rookie mistake, and it kills me.any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
