97´ Suzuki Savage help with a problem.......

My bike started acting up after riding 10 minutes or so. It started puttering on me and then would die. I´d have to give a ton of throttle to get started again and then it wouldn´t even idle it just would die. This has happened twice since I got it last Thursday 21 July. I just got this bike and it ran great and never gave the previous owner any problems. I rode Sunday it was fine. I rode Monday home from my in-laws and it started acting up. I started it up yesterday morning no problem. I rode it again over to the in-laws and on the way home started acting up. These rides are very short (2 miles max). When I rode it home from the seller´s house it was atleast 15 miles and no problems then. Can anyone help?
