I have a ´99 w/ 6500 miles on in. I am having intermitten starting problems. When the bike is hot, it sometimes turns over extremely slowly. Sounds like a weak battery or starter going bad. I had a bike shop tell me that the charging system was fine and that the battery was not sufficient since it is an aftermarket battery. I took that battery back to the place where I got it and it tested fine. It is an aftermarket 16BS-1 battery. I was thinking that maybe heat was causing the starter to breakdown prematurely, however, last night I was able to jump start it with cables. This doesn´t happen when I first start the bike up cold. Any ideas?
