I have a 1978 GS550E that I picked up last year for a good price and it´s been a great ride so far. I´ve replaced the rear brake pads, the tach, and the rear tire. I´ve also mounted a Windjammer III I got on Ebay. I used to own a ´78 GS750, for which I have a Clymer manual, but when I adjusted the points on the 550 to 750 specs, I found that I couldn´t get it in time...had to close down the point gap. What is the correct setting? Also, what are the valve clearances? How many cc´s of fork oil does it take? I´m "biking on a budget," so I´d prefer to just have the specs since I know how to do most of the work already without buying a manual. Any help will be appreciated.
