Bike restoration now done but 2 pesky issues remain. New battery looses charge after about 1 month of riding - assuming no/inadequate charging is taking place or a ground fault is draining things down when bike is not running. After removing the battery, I found a paired red harness lead with a battery post size ring connector loose below. As red denotes the ground color, should this also be connected at the + terminal on the battery with the other one? All diagrams I have check out but do not show this connection.

Thanks in advance for the help!
