Starter Relay

I have just bought a R100/7 that has been stood for 3 years, the starter relay had corroded badly, I purchased a 5 pin relay, fitted it as Haynes wiring diagram, the starter is engaged as soon as it is conected but have no ignition lights. If I wire it differently the ignition lights work but the starter doesn´t operate when button pressed, if I hot wire the starter the bike starts and runs?? Is the BMW (Bosch) relay a special? Any help would be appreciated.
