I was eastbound today on Steeles ave. from Brampton to Toronto when I spotted a fellow traveller on what appeared to me at first to be a 60´s vintage Suzuki or Yamaha. The bike was very clean and appeared to be in excellent shape. Curiosity and nostalgia got the better of me as I cut my teeth on the aforementioned types of motorcycles. But of course, it was neither of those marques. It was an MZ, a brand I had never heard of. My first guess was that it was Eastern European, a la Jawa, but apparently it is Austrian, a la KTM. Can someone enlighten me as to the provenance of MZ motorcycles?
