Origianl coil/wire question

I have the orig coils in my 76 CB and I need to replace the wires. They are old and stiff and keep cracking. My question, it looks like they are fused into the coils and not removable. Is it fused or just a dab of glue at the factory and can I pull them free and replace them with new 7mm ignition wire?
