There is no checking flow, the only way is to follow Clymers manual exactly then a tweek further for insurance-better to run a little more oil flow. Or you can&should do is to remove & plate/block off the pump (and use pre-mix 32:1 ratio) which is what you need to do if you have a good engine or fresh rebuilt engine. Good Luck
