I just came across a 1976 RD 400 that has been sitting in a garage for the last 25 years ! no shit ! it has less than 1000 miles on it, it even still has the original tires on it ! The owner, {original owner no less} works with me, went to his house to pick up a boat and it was just sitting there with tons of dust on it, seems he bought it and it scared him and he just parked it and basically forgot about it. I offered to buy it, and gave him $ 900.00 for the bike, need to go through the top end and clean the carbs and injection pump real good, and do something with the gas tank, seems to be a bit of rust in the tank. other than that, I washed it and waxed her real good, and it looks like a brand new bike, I´d have to say a 9 out of 10 at least. No pitting on any of the chrome, no oil leaks, nothing, almost a perfect bike.once I get it running {dumped oil in through the plug holes and am letting it sit for a few weeks before I try to crank it over} I may show the bike and offer her up for sale. wish me luck
