Best fuel octane for a 97 with 28K? |

I´m just about to buy a 97 Vulcan 1500 Classic with 28k. Its beautiful but its only my 2nd bike (95 Honda Magna, new was my first)and I´m not used to bikes with any mileage. Is this a concern? Is there anything I should know? I understand the top end had to be rebuilt several years ago but Kawasaki covered it since it was bad valves or lifters... Also, should I run straight to a mechanic for a tune up? It rides beautifully (although it does backfire on occasion). Is regular gas ok or do they tend to perform better at higher octanes? Thanks for any help...I want it be around for a looooong time! |
