I just saw a mint 1972 MV 350 at Chicago´s Stella motor scooter importer / dealer. Looking over my shoulder, I at first mistook it for a Ducati Diana Mk.III, then I got my friend to turn around and we stopped for a closer look...twin pipes and all those fins! I KNEW then it was an MV but I had to go inside to inquire a bit moreabout it....they were rather busy but told mrewhat year it was....the boss had just gotten it in.... Que Bella Machina!! Some how I bet these were were faster than Honda 350 twins, but I wonder how they went up against a 350 or 400F... i grew up with 3 Ducati 250´s, 9/10ths of a Diana, a Scrambler and a road bike (Monza?)....all came from a cycle salvage yard in north west Tampa, FL 1968-72. We also had a little Sears 106 / Gilera that was unbreakable. Great Days...we did a bit of AMA road racing localy with the Diana, before I left home. Jesse Carroll |
