XJ900S MOUNTING BRACKET

I have a 2001 Divi, and there´s a mounting bracket under the seat that doesn´t carry anything. Can anyone out there tell me what it´s for? General opinion is that it´s for a part that didn´t make the specs list for Australia (where I is), and may be for the UK or US markets. Earlier models also have the same bracket with nothing in them, so I assume it´s an original factory fitting for something. Over to you guys.....Hagar
