At 66000 miles, i have to say this bike is a great all around machine. I´ve toured the country in four seasons ( yes in winter, snow/sleet) and off road. All it´s needed is oil/filter, tires, plugs and chains.
Great bike any year 650 or 1000 cc,(touring pal rides a DL650)

I´ve enjoyed riding this bike all over the country.
comfortable seat but its a tall machine. Great power and more than enough acceleration. Good range, overall tour comfort, ergos. Tune ups are a bitch, but i digress.
The weakest aspect is the brakes, if possible find an ABS model. Does 127 mph with a tall windshield. I have a givi windshield and it is better than the orginal, even with a arai XD
Helmet...back to the bike, great bang for buck ratio, get one.
