Harley-Davidson Roadster Fuel injected Sportster

I Bought the new XL1200R in Maui Hawaii. The XL1200R is the sportiest of the sportsters which involves wide dirt-inspired handlebars, tachometer and double front brake discs. I enjoy a Sportster on idle as it nearly jumps up and down like a Pit-bull eager to go. And I always listen when I kick it into gear. The low first gear in the five-speed gearbox transmits an immediate surge of torque that luanches the XL1200R forward. The Roadster is quite fun to ride right out of the box. The double front brake discs enables more aggressive riding. The large 19 inch front wheel along with the 16 inch rear also makes for a more aggressive stance. The Roadster is the Gladiators motorcycle as any man on the street would say. The wide handlebars give great control of the steering and I love the feel of the levers on the Sportster. For a Sportster the suspension is quite soft. I noticed when riding two-up around Haiku. It bottomed out several times and my passenger was really lightweight. The double rear suspension on the Roadster has got longer travel than on the other Sportsters but it still fell a short when hitting bumps in the road. My opinion, the XL1200R is one of the worst motorcycles for passenger comfort, but then again it’s a Roadster and best for solo riding. The new fuel injected Evolution V-twin allows seamless acceleration, but still keeps that raw edge you expect from a Harley engine. There is never any doubt that you are on a Harley and somehow those guys managed to make exhaust emissions sound good! The foot controls are mid mounted and the reach to the handlebars are sporty without being uncomfortable. The clutch lever is easier to operate and the left foot is in an ideal position for quick up shifts. As quick as you want. The XL1200R also has a Tachometer so that you can follow the revs too. You also get the security in the Harley-Davidson smart security system. Just keep that key fob on you at all times. All and all The XL1200R Sportster is a charming Gladiator of a motorcycle. The Roadster is a good choice though if you’re shopping for a Sportster. But there are much better motorcycles than this if you want to carry a passenger. It is a fun motorcycle and I realy like the torque surge when changing gears. I will enjoy it for quite some time to come! | |
