A high wheeled scooter with its retro look, Beverly 500 i.e., 2006 model went to fuel injection, a 460 c.c. water-cooled, 4 valve single with EFI and 40 hp, 110/70-16´ front, 150/70-14´ rear, 41 mm diameter fork, triple disc brakes and a 165 km/h top speed, with the centrifugal clutch totally redesigned, after conquering Europe, coming to USA where New York an New Orleans police already found it interesting. Or, America is still questioning¿ First impressions starts with beautiful sound and comfy seats. Amazing acceleration and great breaks. Functional instrument panel. The large wheels are something here. My girlfriend, who is my usual passenger, loves the ride. Riding it on a less than perfect surface is passable, but riding kilometres in maximum calm. Comparing other maxis, Silverwing and Burgman, maybe still better, but very different and overpriced. If we talk about Beverly, do not forget that it is a Single cylinder scooter, so hard to compare. A tradition is on a Piaggio side, where the Piaggio, the leading scooter brand, launched the Vespa (wasp) right after the IIWW, sold 20 mil. units in a decade or two.
