I bought the bike in january this year from peterborough for £1100, which i thought was quite a bargain considering i was going to part with £2000.(br)i have allways wanted a bike that i could customize and this was it.(br)My bike was black allover including the frame, the fairing was aftermarket as the previous owner crashed it and went for the cheapskate option, the fairing was matt black which did look pretty mean.(br)The bike had a spyball spam 140 alarm on it, but that went haywire and i had to strip the whole thing out as it kept going off with the bike running and it kept cutting out the ignition.(br)I took all of the fairing off and got it sprayed in purple to cyan flip paint, while the fairing was off i paintstripped all of the black paint off of the bikes frame and swingarm etc.(br)As i am only 17 i needed to get the bike restricted to 33bhp but the bike still does 110mph which i think is great.(br)The only thing that i think will really slow the bike down is an old chain which is not looked after properly, my bike came with a scotoiler but i havent got round to refilling it yet.(br)I have had to buy a new exhaust system for the bike to beef it up abit although it sounds pretty good as standard, but as i had started customizing my bike a scuffed up old black exhaust and damaged down pipes didnt do the bike any favours, so i bought a 2nd hand blue flame full system(br)for £200 which was immaculate!(br)as i had the bike sprayed i didnt have stickers on the bike and no one knew what the bike was so i had mirror silver and purple stickers made for it.(br)The only things i want to do to the bike now is get a seat cowl, buy a cool cover for my seat, get the carbs re-jetted, and sort the brakes out with purple lines.(br)The bike has never let me down apart from when the spyball went wrong, it is important to me that it is reliable as i use it every day and travel 20miles to work.(br)The kawasaki engine is very strong and if everything is well maintained the bike is sh*t quick, all of the other 400 owners look at my zxr with envy.(br)The most common 400 on the isle of wight is vfr400 which i think look ugly comared to zxr styling.(br)If anyone wants any info email me at purplezxr@hotmail.com. | |
