I bought a 1984 GPZ900 Ninja for Dollars 500.00 it was sitting in a junk yard for 2 1/2 - 3 years in the rain and snow. I pulled the carbs and cleaned them, adjusted the valve´s and stuck some new spark plugs in it as well as an oil change. 2 Weeks later I tested it.......

It runs the 1/4 mile in 10.8-11.1 sec´s at over 124 MPH.
I hit 165mph (speedo´s max shown speed) and still had 2000rpm´s on the tach to go when I backed off.
I estimate a topspeed of at least 175mph.
If you don´t like wheelie´s let all the air out of the front forks and air the back shock up, set the level to firm and you can rev it as high as 7-8 grand at lanch with just a small hop of the front tire, Giving you increadable acceleration.
In 1st gear you can do 60+ mph before shifting into second gear. which puts your 0-60 time in about 3.0 sec´s and it will hit 90mph in just over 6 sec´s.
Hope this info helps I know how hard it is to find info about this bikes performance.
All times are from a stock 1984 gpz900 ninja that had an overheating problem and needed a new chain and sprokets.
Not all rider´s will have the same times as me I know my bike and how to ride it. Like this guy I raced that had a Hayabusa (I won by 8 bikes) said ´Its not the bike its the rider´. thats very true He should have beat me but he was afraid of his bike.
