I am 41 years old and decided to get a bike for everyday riding in the summer.

I bought a 1980 Suzuki GN400 from a relative and it is in excellent shape. I have ridden dirt bikes my whole life just about but never owned a street bike. I decided that this would be a good choice for me because I didn´t want to learn on an expensive motorcycle as I felt I needed the driving experience first. I think a lot of people go straight for the ´crotch-rocket´ type bikes and this is a mistake.I have been riding for a year now and still picking up things along the way of learning to be a better and safer rider. This bike has given me no trouble whatsoever and besides a front tire and left mirror replacement, it has cost me nothing in terms of repair. It is an excellent choice in my opinion to learn on (also easy to control during your Motorcycle endorsement test) at any age if you can find one in good shape.I haven´t had to do anything to it like I said but from all the articles I have read they are easy to work on as well. I think next year I will be ready for a nice new motorcycle with some more power but I will keep this one as I have grown quite fond of it. | |
