My veiw on the sm50! Rode it for a year got a Yama 250 and like fIxing bikes here´s what I found out!

Brought one from new, rode it in for 600mile took about a week. After deresteicting it or to about 47 and stayed there off the counter downhill :) personally tyres are like wood so in the rain take it easy laid it down about 3 times learning that no I can´t take a mini roundabout in the wet at 47mph
but it survived and I didn´t get hurt that much. Personally an awesome beginers bike only if you don´t mind tweakIng it evey few weeks constantly breaking down, eg after a while it wasn´t waterproof if I Rode in the rain it would die, the hd cable and connected melted, so new cable and spark plug was needed also the eletrics were effect by the rain the lights sometime all turned off not idea on the way home at gone 11 but the good points faster than some peds keps up in towns and it looks hot, if you buy one second hand most Likly the clutch plates will have gone 2nd gear will most Likly jump which is a pain on the ass, lastly the lock that held the seat down the bracket broke I might just be unlucky but is and easy fix if you are and engineering genius like myself( some duct tape and wire did the job) but after all these points I still would recOmmed it especially if you looking to get a bigger bike, will learn gears but the throttle control is pretty much open constanly if you ride like moi. Good luck have fun be safe!
