When they came out all the reviews stated that they were ´the best all rounder ever!´ Can´t say I agree with them. | ||||||

Maybe I´m a bit harsh. The engine is reasonably good, as is the handling, the brakes, and the quality. But thats my point, its all reasonable. I didn´t want reasonable, I wanted good. At least on one or two things. I bought it to appease my wife, once kids came along it was used to replace a ZX7R, which was the fun bike, and a KLR650, which was the commuter. I covered a good few thousand miles in the year or so I had it, but none were anything to write home about. Maybe I had a bad ´un, but either way it ate rear tyres and chains, was twitchy on bends, corroded all over the engine and forks and really dull. The worst point, after which it had to go, was when the chain, only being 11 months old, stretched to the point of no return within 100 miles, and took out the clutch push rod, emptying itself of oil all over the road and my back tyre, then leaving me an hours push home to decide how much I disliked that bike. Oh yes and the engine on start up sounds like one of those big mopeds. Yawn. Basically if you want a bike to gain experience on, look elsewhere. Theres stuff out there that´ll keep you interested for years. If you have a beard, wear wax cotton clothing, speak through your nose and live with your mum, heres the perfect bike for you. Enjoy. |
