I have rode my ruckus for about year and a half now and it still amazes me what it can do! | ||||||
Alright, i am going to start by saying ´I know this thing is slow, even with mods it will never be really fast! not your wheelie machine, but it still rocks.´ I have driven this bike EVERYWHERE in my town and outside of town. These are so dependable and simple and stout that it should be a crime to never ride one. I live in waco, tx and ride my ruckus all over town, across town and outside of town. you learn to cope with traffic that wants to pass you and i admit its not that fun on open streets, but where the ruckus really shines is on little back streets, through downtown, screaming down alleyways ´be careful you might bottom the suspension´ :) and down roads where the maximum speedlimit is about 30 (people still find excuses to pass you) i do not suggest this vehicle for offroad, even though it is capable (really capable) it can and ultimately will get damaged with hard offroad use. now with that said there is one way to ride this hog hard and that is in the corners. this thing is so nimble and quick in the corners (if you know what your doing) that you can outrun most cars on really twisty streets. my friend and i take mine out to the mall and run laps around the inside track with all of the ´s´turns and stopsigns and hard corners and man this thing can just blast right through them. if you want to learn how a motorcycle handles and what a bike can do without getting seriously hurt, than this is it. i have taken my fair share of falls on the ruckus and it still hurts like nothing else but you probably will not end up with a serious injury or a seriously broken bike. this bike can hit the ground, slide, tumble and what ever else way you crash (besides hitting a curb headon at 30, you will need to replace the steerer tube with costs 105 Dollars ) but overall a great bike to learn on, learn the roadrules and mechanics of riding a motorcycle without killing yourself, actually experience a fall but its not if but when and be able to walk away from it, blast down all the backroads or down moderate trails, and still get 90 miles to the gallon. this is a very highly rated bike in my opinion, and besides the storage space under the seat is great, i can carry a weeks worth of laundry under the seat. yea, its a good bike. modification on mine: removed rear fender, chopped custom exhaust, cargo net under seat, a tool bag in the back, lots of scraps, scratches and a still slightly bent steerer tube. i love my ruckus, but...i getting a buell! yay. |
