I don´t know if my 2001 ZX6R Ninja is factory standard or modified but I have to say well done to Kawasaki or whoever did the modifications. I have been told that Kawasaki may have released a special edition of the ninja in 2001.¿ Mine does seem to look slightly different than the other ninja´s I´ve seen. I´ve only had the bike since Christmas 2010 and as I said it´s my first road bike. I´ve have had several different bikes approach me at traffic lights and attempt to put me in my place., eg; 1998 GSXR-750cc, 2008 CBR-600cc. On both occasions the other riders were shocked that they couldnt get in front of me. Two weeks ago I was on a major Hwy when a new-ish Moto Guzzi 1000cc, tried to teach me a lesson. The look on his face when he discovered that he was out run by a 600cc, was priceless. I don´t know what it is but the bike just seems to have an endless stream of power. (And I´m loving it). I have had the speedo up to 275kms an hour and I ran out of courage before the bike ran out of legs.( It was like gliding on an arrow) I´m not sure if I´m brave enough to attempt 300kms yet but I would not be supprised. I have definitely become very addicted and you could say passionate, about being on the road and on two wheels. Cruising the streets on my bike seems to take life to a whole level. Nothing better than jumping on the bike and leaving the stresses of life behind me. Live to ride and ride to live... Laney.
