My lovely bride of 22 years surprised me with a lovely silver Road Glide just like the one in the adjoining photo. Prior to delivery, Reno Harley installed a 95´ kit with cams, as I plan on doing a good deal of 2-up riding and we live at a high altitude. I have had the bike 2 weeks now and work is interfering with riding, so I have only logged about 1,000 miles on it. The only other accessory I have added is the rider backrest, which provides excellent lower back support. I highly recommend it. The bike has impressive torque and acceptable acceleration. I ride at 5,000´ + elevation, so there is a reduction in power here. My other ride is an Aprilia RST1000 which has a tad more exciting performance. That said, I simply love this new ´Lazy Boy´ on 2 wheels. The fairing design is excellent! We have severe mountain winds (40-50mph sustained) and the bike handles quartering winds very well. Impressive. I am also very pleased with high 40´s in fuel economy. Mind you I´m keeping it rather tame due to break in, but nearly 50 mpg is pretty impressive. Wonderful sound, smooth ride and the unique style make this a real longterm keeper. Planned additional accessories are a tour pack and a clearview windshield perhaps. I would rate this bike at about an 8.5 on a 10-scale. |
